Daniela Tărniceriu

Daniela TĂRNICERIU got her MSc degree in Electrical Engineering in 1983 and her PhD degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 1997, both at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi. In 1991 she joined the Department of Communications and received the title of Professor in 2001. She is a PhD supervisor and her research interests currently include digital signal processing and coding theory. She has held different administrative positions as vice-dean, head of department and now dean of the faculty.
She has taught the following courses: Information theory, Digital signal processing, Statistical signal processing, Compression and encryption; Multimedia signal compression techniques.

Professor Liviu GORAŞ teaches the course on Signals, Circuits and Systems I to second year students. His research interest are: signal theory, linear and nonlinear electrical and electronic circuits analysis, synthesis and design, cellular neural networks. He has graduated 28 PhD students, authored and coauthored 3 books (2 as a co-editor) and 3 book chapters, over 60 journal papers, more than 140 conference papers and 14 Romanian patents. He is currently the Director of the Gheorghe Asachi Doctoral School.

Iulian B. CIOCOIU was born in Miercurea-Ciuc, Romania, in 1963. He got his BSc degree in Electronic Engineering at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi in 1988 and his PhD degree at the same university in 1996. Courses taught include Digital Signal Processing, Adaptive Filtering, Neural Networks. He has published over 50 papers, 2 books (in Romanian), and 3 book chapters. His research interests include artificial neural networks, biometric applications, pattern recognition.
Adriana Sîrbu

Adriana SÎRBU got her MSc and PhD degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications from at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi in 1981 and 1996, respectively. Between 1981 – 1986, she was with the Electronic Research Center, Iaşi Branch. In 1987, she joined TUIASI, where she has been a Professor at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology since 2001. Her research interests include electronic circuits modelling and simulation, error-correcting codes and software engineering. She has authored seven books and over 90 papers published in journals and conference proceedings. Currently she delivers programming courses.

Luminiţa SCRIPCARIU got her BSc and PhD degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications from at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi in 1991 and in 1998, respectively. She teaches courses on Communications, Computer Networks, Network Security and Databases at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies. She was part of and conducted several research projects on various research areas (data coding and modulation, communication systems, information security and networking). Dănuţ BURDIA got his Diploma degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 1993 and his PhD degree in 2003, both at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi. He teaches the courses on Computer-Aided Analysis of Electronic Circuits and Computer-Aided Design of Analog and Digitals Systems. His research interests include modelling and simulation of CMOS integrated circuits, modelling and FPGA synthesis of digital systems with applications on digital signal processing and digital communications.

Radu Gabriel BOZOMITU got his degree in Communications and Electronic Engineering, his master’s degree in the field of digital radio-communications and his PhD degree at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology in 1995, 1996 and 2004, respectively. R. G. Bozomitu works as an associate professor at the Telecommunications and Informational Technologies Department at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, TUIASI. His present interests are in the areas of radio communications, analogue integrated circuit design and assistive technology. Courses taught: Radio communications, VLSI implementation of the radiofrequency circuits and Advanced radio communications.

Dorin O. Neacşu got his MSc and PhD degrees in Electronics at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi in 1988 and 1994, respectively, and an MSc degree from the Gordon Institute for Leadership, Tufts University, in 2005. Dorin has been with the faculty at the Department of Electronics between 1990 and 1999. After that year, he was involved with US industry and academic activities. Starting 2012, Dorin is an Associate Professor at TUIASI and a Visiting Associate Professor at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA. In Iaşi, Dorin teaches Automate Control Systems and Power Electronics. Dorin has an excellent IEEE activity and has received the 2015 Constantin Budeanu award of the Romanian Academy of Sciences.

Damian IMBREA teaches the course on Digital Integrated Circuits to second year students. He also teaches courses on Testing and Testability of Digital Systems or Advanced VLSI Digital Integrated Circuits to the students from Microelectronics. His research interests include PLL circuits, analogue-to-digital converters, mixers and oscillators, rail-to-rail buffers, current-to-frequency converters, voltage and current reference circuits, amplifiers and comparators.

Cristian AGHION got his MSc and PhD degrees in Electronics Engineering at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi in 2002 and 2008, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Electronics and Intelligent Systems TUIASI.
Dr. Agrion’s research activities concern essentially dc-dc converters, microcontrollers, computer architecture, PWM algorithms, modelling and simulation of power converters, and various inverter power section topologies.
Ciprian-Romeo COMŞA

Ciprian-Romeo COMŞA is currently Assistant Professor at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi. He is also a team leader at Continental Automotive Romania. After he got his BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering at TUIASI in 2000 and 2001 he pursued a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (2006 – 2011). He has conducted research activities on wireless communication systems design, source localisation and compressive sensing. He has been involved in various research projects in Romania and the Unites States and has published and presented his work at prestigious international conferences. He has taught courses, instructed labs and delivered training sessions in digital and mobile communications, programming, functional safety. His research interests include wireless localisation, functional safety analyses, inter-vehicular communication and automotive electronic control systems.

Radu MATEI got his Diploma degree in Electronics in 1994 and his PhD degree in nonlinear networks applied in signal processing in 2002, both at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi. He is currently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. He gives lectures and applications in Electronic Device Modelling, Filter Synthesis and Electronic Circuits. For the English track studies he gives laboratory classes in Signals, Circuits and Systems. His research interests include linear and nonlinear signal and image processing, filter design and cellular neural networks.

Iolanda ALECSANDRESCU got her the Diploma degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2000 and her PhD degree in 2009, both at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi. Sorin-Bogdan BALMUŞ teaches the course of Physics to first year students. His research activity is mostly related to the high frequencies and microwaves domains by approaching subjects as: high frequency waves scattering phenomena, improvement of the high electric permittivity and magnetic permeability materials measurement methods at high frequencies, characterisation of the “microstrip” (patch) antennas and electromagnetic pollution.

Dr. Nicolae CLEJU got his PhD summa cum laude in 2012 from at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi. Since 2013, he holds an Assistant position at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. Dr. Cleju has taught multiple application and lecture classes in signal processing, information theory, C programming and related disciplines. His research interests are in the area of signal processing, focusing on sparse signal modelling, compressed sensing, signal processing for large-scale data and associated optimisation problems.

Adela–Ioana URSANU teaches Physical Education and Sport. She instruments classes providing a variety of activities which will motivate students and increase participation. The objectives of the discipline are to increase the physical and intellectual capacity of effort, to have a well-balanced body development, to optimise health status, to prevent global and segment physical deficiencies, acquiring and maintaining correct body postures and develop character. She teaches students to establish lifelong fitness goals, to appreciate and understand the value of physical education and its relationship to a healthy, active lifestyle.
